The Department of clinical (medical) biochemistry
Was founded in 1966 on the basis of the Chair of clinical laboratory diagnostics.
It was neccessary, because the role of biochemicaly investigations in practical medicine increased at that time.
Professor Panchenko N.I. had headed the Clinical Biochemistry Chair since 1970 till 1996 year ( time of her death ).
She was a talented scientist. She had many interesting scientific ideas.
During her leadership the Chair widened its scientific outlook, complemented its learning curriculum with a new biochemical methods including enzyme methods.
The Chair Staff created the methodical recommendations connected with biochemical investigation methods.
Scientific works of Department were made in combination of biochemistry and other medical specialities such as surgary, sexopathology, orthopaedics and traumatology, oncogynicology and so on.
Prof. Panchenko taught and brought up many pupils. Prof. Knyaseva was one of them.
